RECENT PROJECTS
The American Institute of Architects requested Nahan Communication's writing and editing services for publications resulting from virtual design charrettes involving architects, public health experts, engineers, and facility managers aimed at exploring how design strategies, backed by science, can be a public health solution.
ARCHITECT'S GUIDE TO BUILDING PERFORMANCE
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) asked Nahan Communications to work with a task force made up of architects and engineers with expertise in building performance simulation (AKA energy modeling) to bring a partial draft of this design guide to a full draft and completion. Nahan Communications evaluated existing content and organization and identified areas where more and/or different content were required, where content could be reduced and devised an organizational structure fo the guide. Nahan Communications then worked with the task force to develop additional content, including the infographics in the guide. The result: Architect's Guide to Building Performance: Integrating Simulation into the Design Process
BUILDING OUR NEW ENERGY FUTURE
Sheila Hayter, ASHRAE President, 2018 - 19, requested Nahan Communications' services for several activities in support of her Presidential year. We served for more than a year on her President-Elect Advisory Committee, wrote and introduced the Presidential address delivered to the society at her formal installation and developed the publication, Building Our New Energy Future, in support of her theme. Ms. Hayter recognizes the critical role of buildings in the future of the electrical grid and tapped Nahan Communications to conduct research and work with subject matter experts to develop a fundamental primer about expected changes in the electricity sector that will offer challenges and opportunities to buildings professionals. For this project, ASHRAE was our client and we also collaborated with the American Institute of Architects and the National Institute of Building Sciences to develop the publication.
