• Changing Building Design for a Changing Electric Grid (Client, Building Green) Researched and wrote a Spotlight Report about changes to the electric grid in light of increasing use of variable renewable energy generation assets, and how these changes affect building design. Conducted multiple subject-matter interviews and wrote the piece, which can be used for continuing education credits.

• Go Code Colorado 2018 (Client, Confluence Communications for the Colorado Secretary of State's Office): Rearchitected and rewrote the competition's website to improve usability. Authored blogs and developed all social media.

• U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2017 (Client, Confluence Communications): Performed as the communications and outreach team for the 2017 competition and event. Developed new messaging and a unique identity to distinguish 2017 from past events while ensuring consistency with the existing U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) brand. Mentored competing teams to improve the quality of their communications efforts. Provided all website and print content for 2017. Provided all social media content up to the actual event then collaborated with the DOE digital media team to develop, post and respond to a high-volume of social media content during the event. Created messaging package and provided reviews and approvals of communications materials developed by/for the DOE Solar Decathlon Director, public affairs and digital teams, as well as various DOE subcontractors responsible for competition management, stakeholder engagement, sponsorship, media outreach, and volunteer programs.

 

• U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2015 (Client, Confluence Communications): Speechwriting for event organizers and DOE VIPs delivering remarks at a variety of high-profile special events associated with the competition.

• PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center ICD-10 Training Website (Client, IntechRx Consulting): Developed and maintained internal website for healthcare professionals requiring training on the updated ICD-10 medical codes for the diagnoses of diseases and procedures.

 

• Guidelines for Home Energy Professionals (Client, National Renewable Energy Laboratory): Provided technical assistance and subject matter expertise to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to pilot and rollout ANSI/ISO-certified professional certifications for workers in the single-family-home energy upgrades industry. We also provided the same support in the development of multifamily certification schemes per ANSI/ISO requirements. NREL published a brochure (PDF) that describes this project well.
